You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is in your daily routine.
Each day is a different journey but routines give it structure. Creating intentional daily, weekly or monthly routines keeps order in your life and crushing goal becomes much easier, trust. Sunday is the idea day to plan for the week ahead. There are so many ways to get into a routine, but the hardest part is sticking to it. The number one rule is to make it work for YOU! Here’s our Sunday routine we think everyone should try to have an organized week.
A clean house is a clear mind
Doing laundry and generally organizing will help you feel prepared for the chaos of your busy weekday schedule. Need more motivation to tackle these unpleasant chores on your day off? Science has proven that physical clutter reduces our ability to focus and process information.
Map out your week
Time to pull those planners out! If you suffer from Sunday-night anxiety, one way is to ignore whatever you’ll face on Monday; however, mapping out the week will actually lessen your anxiety by helping you feel in control. Walking into a new week with no organization is the easiest way to forget or procrastinate.
Here’s a tip: Write down your work schedule, classes and/or after work activities for Monday-Friday. Fill out your meals for the week, even if you don’t stick to them, it’s good to get an idea of what you’d like to eat for the week.
Prep food and wardrobe
Nothing is more frustrating than standing in your closet wondering what to wear or running too late to make breakfast. The advice may sound like preparation overload but having a few extra minutes to stop for coffee or mentally prepare for your day is life-changing. Pick out five outfits, iron them then place them in the front of your closet. Food is an easy one, just make your breakfast and lunch while cooking dinner.
Set realistic goals
Weekly goals should be realistic and attainable– try not to over think it. Maybe you want to write a few pages for your book, fill out five job applications, write two blog posts or book two clients for your business. Try not to set more than three goals in any given week so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Unplug from social media
Yes, this can be REALLY difficult especially if social media is used for your business but just imagine how much you can accomplish away from your phone. You don’t have to detox the entire day, but if you can unplug for a couple of hours, you’ll be mentally and physically healthier for it. This means no computers, phones or even TVs.
Take a bubble bath
When’s the last time you took a bath? Of course you shower everyday but baths are more relaxing. Okay, so we don’t know if every successful woman gets to luxuriate in the bathtub on Sunday nights, but if you can, do. Warm baths offer a plethora of health benefits, not the least of which are less anxiety and better sleep.
